No Gi Grappling
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling & Submission Grappling
What is No Gi Grappling?
No Gi Grappling is essentially the sport of BJJ without the Judo suit meaning that you can only grip the other person, unlike Gi BJJ in which you can take grips of the suit that the other person is wearing. This makes it slightly quicker and a little more suited towards MMA for example. Think of it like Judo vs Wrestling but on the ground!
The sport has been made popular by the UFC which, in their first event, showcased that it was the most dominant martial art in a one on one setting! Following this cultural figures like Joe Rogan, Lex Friedman, Russel Brand, Mark Zuckerberg and many others championed the benefit the sport has for your mind! In a world of notifications and stress nothing occupies you fully like grappling. It really is a healthy break from reality where the troubles of the world are left behind and you can share time on the mats with like minded people working to improve.
Grappling places a strong emphasis on leverage, technique, and positional dominance, allowing smaller individuals to overcome larger opponents. The most effective martial artist in the gym really does tend to be the one that knows the most technique and we provide a time tested speedy path to getting good for beginners!
Grappling promotes physical fitness, mental discipline, and problem-solving skills, making it popular for self-defense and offers a strong mental health benefit without taking damage. It is one of the safest martial arts as well as the most effective and is a key component of MMA!
